Oliviero Plazzi Marzotto
Oliviero is an Italian Writer, Producer, and Director based in Rome. Oliviero got his start as an actor, studying at the New York Film Academy, and working in the theaters as an Assistant Director. He then graduated from NYU Tisch School of the Arts with a major in Film and Television and a minor in Italian Studies.
While writing, Oliviero focuses his attention on the construction of characters and how their interaction builds up a story. He believes that collaborating with actors is crucial. Oliviero has been making films since he was a child growing up in Italy and traveling around the world. His style reflects his experiences and uses it to embrace and blend different influences into his work.
During the pandemic, Oliviero has started to develop a unique style of psychological thrillers, focusing on isolation. He currently is creating trilogy based on this subject. The first installment, "Zůstat Doma"(Stay Home), was shot on 35mm film while studying Prague. The second episode, his thesis film “Respect for Acting”, was shot in NYC and is now facing the final steps of post-production.
On top of finalizing his last short film, he is now working on sets in Italy while writing the last episode of his trilogy and collecting material for his first feature film.
