Meet Ava Burka, a dynamic filmmaker based in Brooklyn. Her compelling short films have been featured on screens in notable cities like Washington DC, New York, London, and Prague. A proud alumna of NYU Tisch Film & TV, she earned her bachelor's in fine arts in 2023.

Ava is a versatile artist, both behind and in front of the camera. She seamlessly transitions between directing her own projects and taking on compelling roles on screen. Her passion lies in crafting coming-of-age narratives that delve into the depths of identity, relationships, and the world that one engages with.

Describing her work as investigative and experimental, Ava thrives while pushing creative boundaries. She eagerly embraces diverse techniques and technologies to immerse her audience in transformative storytelling experiences.

Presently, Ava is immersed in the post-production process for her recently shot evocative short film, "Ma Sestra." Shot on 35mm amidst the backdrop of an abandoned Czech train station, this film endeavors to captivate audiences with its artistry and poignant themes.
